As an environmentalist, I’m passionate about designing products that contribute to the planet’s well-being. Nemo was born from this passion, with the goal of connecting eco artists with coral restoration foundations to raise funds for reef restoration through the sale of eco-conscious art, leveraging NFT technology.
I started by diving into the challenges these foundations were facing. The biggest issue? A serious lack of funds.
On top of that, I found out they were struggling with things like:
keeping their data organized
tracking their impact
making their websites easy to use
Nemo was designed with three core sections, each aimed at addressing the specific needs I identified:
The Coral Hub: aggregating data and insights from top coral foundations.
The Artist Hub:
connecting eco artists with restoration projects.
The Collections Hub: showcasing art collections that support coral restoration.
An online platform that aggregates data, studies, and statistics on coral restoration. It also details the types of projects each foundation is working on. To date, we’ve partnered with 8 top foundations.
A network of eco-conscious artists willing to donate a portion of their proceeds to coral restoration efforts. This hub connects these artists with foundations to create impactful collaborations.
This section showcases the art collections created by our partnered artists to support coral restoration. Through three collections launched in 2023, Nemo raised $10K for restoration efforts.
This project reinforced my belief that tech can be a powerful tool for environmental conservation. By focusing on clear communication and leveraging innovative technologies like NFTs, it’s possible to create platforms that not only raise awareness but also generate tangible results for the planet.
It was also an incredibly empowering experience to develop this website from scratch in Webflow without writing a single line of code.
